2012 WALK Update
God shined upon us - With rain in the morning hours; by noon the sun was shining for a beautiful autumn CROP Walk. Approximately 120 Walkers participated in the 2012 New Paltz CROP Walk. Sheila Fishman lead Walkers in song and an inspiring prayer by Pastor Dianna Smith of the New Paltz Student Christian Center sent Walkers on their way. Total is $11,775.00 being raised through online donations, sponsored walkers, and a silent auction; with 120 walkers.
I want to thank all walkers, sponsors, registration volunteers and donors who helped make another successful CROP Walk.
The 2012 WALK starting from SUNY Parking Lot #18. Up So. Manheim to Rte 299 (Main Street), down to the Wallkill Rail Trail and headed north to Wallkill Bridge. At the check-in tables, on the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, Walkers were treated with fresh apples provided by Hurds Family Farm. Check-in tables were staffed by Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church, the Nazarene Church of New Paltz and Clintondale Christian Church . Wallkill View Farm also supplied the Clintondale check-in table with bananas. Walkers had a choice of free ice cream cone tickets handed out on return to SUNY Parking lot, provided by Stewart's Ice Cream, or a cupcake certificate from Moxie Cupcakes.
